This is water-powered Fidler’s Mill in Upshur County. It dates to the 1840s.  (B302A)

 

This is Allender’s Mill, now gone, in Randolph County on the Cheat River. Flooding in mountainous terrain is intensified, and has swept away many water powered mills in West Virginia.  (B592P)

 

This is Mitchell’s Mill near Sugar Grove, West Virginia. The original German name was Mischler, but it became Anglicized to Mitchell.  (B597F)

 

This is Mollohan’s Mill in Webster County on the Holly River. The Mill was built in the 1890s.  (FL1089R)
