Paul Oorts

Multi-instrumentalist Paul Oorts performs in duo with his wife, Karen Ashbrook, but is also active as a traditional dance musician, playing things with plucked strings and musette accordion for contras, English, and vintage dances in the DC-Baltimore area and across the nation. He particularly enjoys performing and researching the music of his native Belgium. In between summer music camp seasons, Dr. Oorts teaches French and Italian at Peabody Conservatory and at Loyola University in Baltimore.
