Bob Smakula has repeatedly won the West Virginia Open Banjo Championship and has placed 6 times at Clifftop. He’s featured on the Rounder CD, The Old Time Banjo Festival. Bob buys, sells, and restores vintage stringed instruments through his business, Smakula Fretted Instruments, of Elkins, West Virginia. Bob is also a contributing editor for the Old-Time Herald magazine and writes a regular column on instrument repair.
