Heidi Kulas is a third generation clogger
who was a principal dancer with the internationally renowned touring company,
Footworks
Percussive Dance Ensemble
for many years. She has been a guest dancer with Nickel Creek, Uncle Earl,
and Lunasa. She has performed at the Kennedy Center and the Smithsonian Institute.
She graduated Summa cum Laude, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts from
Mars Hill College, where she was team Captain for the 17-time National Champion
Bailey Mountain Cloggers. Heidi is a member of the All American Clogging
Team currently directs the percussive dance group Sole Impact. She is the
Dance Program director for Joyful Noise Music and Arts Center, a clogging
teacher for the Junior Appalachian Musicians program (JAM), and instructs
various styles of dance for the Asheville Arts Center. Her choreography has
been seen in several touring productions including Footworks’ Incredible
Feets, The Crossing with Tim O’Brien, and Solemates with Step Afrika. She
has been an actress and the choreographer for Southern Appalachian Repertory
Theatre for three seasons.
