Traditional Quiltmaking

This class will focus on keeping traditional designs alive using today’s tools and time saving techniques.  The class will concentrate on rotary cutting, precision piecing and machine appliqué skills. Log Cabin, Dresden Plate, String-pieced Star, Rose of Sharon, and Mariner’s Compass will all be 14" squares, and creative options for transforming these blocks into small wall hangings or the start of a sampler quilt will be discussed. Participants must provide their own sewing machine in good operating condition, and should be comfortable with its use. Basic sewing and/or quilting skills would be helpful.
