2010 Augusta Mini-Course Description

Week 3
Guitar for Beginners & Intermediates mini-course
Deborah Thompson

Rusty and needing reminders? Need a little help to learn how to play along with others? The subjects we will cover will depend on the experience and interest of the participants, but may include: accompanying singing and tunes; fingerpicking; picking out simple melodies; transposing and learning the basics of music theory to help you hear and anticipate chord changes; and tricks for tuning your guitar. If needed, we will review basic chords and strumming techniques, but this is not a class for novices.

Participants should have at least a little experience on the guitar - should know (or have known) the basic chords in open position: G, C, D, A, E, Em, Am. Please bring a guitar, flatpick, and capo, as well as a tuner if you need one.
